Oversee dorm management and to maximize the benefits of the residential living situation for students.
Motivate students and gain their acceptance of and adherence to residential living goals; and an understanding of social behavior and motivation to effectively provide guidance required.
Provide individual guidance to students.
Recognize potentially adverse or sensitive situations that may require special or professional handling to refer to the appropriate person.
Meet and Deal with a variety of people, including local authorities, students' families, and off-Center visitors to clarify, obtain, and provide information in handling student activities and problems.
Utilize various Job Corps related databases and software in order to perform and process work assignments.
Performs other duties as assigned.

This position is required to work swing shift and night shift when determined by the needs of the Center.

Qualifications In order to qualify, you must meet the eligibility and qualifications requirements as defined below by the closing date of the announcement.

For the GS-4 level:
Applicants must have six months of any type of work that demonstrated the ability to perform the work of the position, or experience that provided a familiarity with the subject matter or processes of the broad subject area of the occupation AND six months of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-3 grade level; OR Successful completion of 2 years of study that (a) included at least 12 semester hours of subjects directly related to the work of the position such as social behavior, human behavior, or health care, or (b) was supplemented by experience in activities that afforded the opportunity to acquire and demonstrate the skills required by the position; OR Combinations of successfully completed post-high school education and experience.
The education must have been obtained in an accredited business, secretarial or technical school, junior college, college or university.
General Experience - Providing childcare, performing volunteer work at a youth camp, or performing community service with disadvantaged youths.
Specialized Experience for the GS-3 Level is defined as most of the following:
Assisted youths in various types of organizational activities such as sport teams or tutoring; Volunteered as a community work crew member.
Assisted in providing guidance in a community or residential recreation program; Assisted in providing crew members instruction in safety rules and regulations in living and working situations.
For the GS-5 level:
Applicants must have one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least GS-4 grade level; OR Successful completion of a full 4-year course of study leading to a bachelor's degree that (a) included at least 24 semester hours in any combination of subjects directly related to the work of the position; (b) included a major in social behavior, human behavior, or health care or; (c) was supplemented by specialized experience as described below; OR Combinations of successfully completed post-high school education (in excess of the first 60 semester/90 quarter hours) and specialized experience.
The education must have been obtained in an accredited business, secretarial or technical school, junior college, college or university.
Specialized experience for the GS-4 Level is defined as most of the following:
Group leader in community or residential recreation program; Instructor in a training program for the development of job skills; Work that demonstrated the ability to be responsible for and to lead and train members of a job crew; Unit leader-monitor-proctor for a dormitory group or a boarding school or other residential facility.
Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.
g.
, Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.
g.
, professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social).
Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment.
You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
